Amazon Fire Tv Stick is a household name for streaming devices and for the Amazon Fire Tv Stick Lite
The package is way bigger in size , however the contents is very much similar when package is unboxed .
The hdmi extender : IF the port is boxed in or space is limited at the back of television the extender will
guarantee easier access to hdmi port .
Micro usb cable to provide power to Firestick ,two batteries, power brick ( 1amp plug) and wait a minute
the remote is a bit different with the volume control button missing on the Amazon Fire Stick Lite, upon
connecting the device to the television for initial set up I didn’t expect that I would have to upgrade the
software on the device as the device was a new model , procedure took about 10 minutes and I had to
wait after waiting 10 long minutes, the device was ready with the same interface as the second and
third generation devices ,and from I saw the interface we know we might be in for a long day .
I decided to move around the menu of the device and can I tell you I wasn’t impressed comparing it to
the Xiaomi Tv stick it was quite laggy but if you compare it to Amazon Fire 4k Tv stick you might find it
hard to tell the difference, for the remote, the volume control button is replaced by the Live Tv button
to give direct access to live tv apps installed on device.
After pressing Live tv button to see how fast it access the app I must say it was really quick, youtube and
Netflix worked really well , and you might say you can get a android tv box for the same price of $30 that
has 64g of storage and 6g Ram but the problem is those devices will not support the official Netflix
prime video , Hulu , it just wont support them and you will not get the same resolution .
I then installed a third party app on the device and the thumbnails loaded pretty fast I also noticed an
added feature when installing third party apps to always turn on ; Allow installation of third party apps
in My Fire Tv with every installation of apps ,testing the internet speed was ok as the speed was similar
to 2nd and 3rd generation devices ,I then powered it down and then back up again and it was a bit laggy
but comparing it to the 2nd and 1st generation fire stick this would be an upgrade , I would say this
Amazon Fire Tv stick is for the budget market .
Wrapping up
I would say this Amazon Fire Tv stick Lite would do well as a secondary option for just using Netflix and Youtube and I wouldn’t break the bank to purchase this specific model if you already own a Amazon 4k tv stick or Xiaomi Tv stick you can go ahead and purchase , let me know in the comments below what
